The design and research on online measurement system for cotton production can improve the capabilityof cotton-picking machine to detect intelligence information and help to get real-time and accurate cottonproduction space distribution information corresponding to time and geographical location, which offersconvenience for cotton farmers to understand real-time harvest and to make precise management. Thisstudy focused on the reliable communication between the intelligent node for data acquisition and theintelligent monitoring terminal in the online measurement system for cotton production. Meanwhile, it isintended to realize the function of real-time data acquisition, processing, display and storage in the onlinemeasurement system for cotton production. The main contents are as follows:(1)Design the overall structure of the online measurement system for cotton production andcommunication network structure by using intelligent detection technology, communication technology andcomputer technology after analyzing the research status and key technology of the online measurementsystem for cotton production at home and abroad.(2)Complete the designing and debugging of the hardware system. The hardware was divided intointelligent measuring terminal, communication interface unit, display and storage unit, and intelligent nodeunit by the method of modularization design, and the appropriate interface circuits were designed tointerconnect these modules. After the simulation debugging and the checking, the hardware system wasbuilt. With S3C2416microprocessor of ARM9series as the core of the intelligent monitoring terminal,power supply circuit, clock circuit and reset circuit were designed. The communication module was dividedinto CAN interface and RS232interface, and the design of the intelligent node includes the sensor selectionand the design of signal processing circuit.(3)Design the application software according to the demand of the online measurement system forcotton production. The Intelligent monitoring terminal was equipped with the Windows CE operatingsystem and the system software of the online measurement system for cotton production was designed andwritten with Visual Studio2008software. There is a friendly man-machine interface and simple operationwith the software and its function mainly includes homepage, system Settings, display, production figureand files. Users can operate LCD touch screen to realize the function of information input and pageoperation. CAN bus application layer protocol was formulated based on ISO11783standard, and CANcommunication was realized by programming, which realized the data transfer between the intelligent nodeand the intelligent monitoring terminal.(4)Finally, the function test of the hardware and the software and the integrated debugging of thesystem were carried on. The relationship between the measured value and the actual value of cottonproduction was found through the experimental analysis. And the system performance was improved afterthe optimization of the system design according to that relationship.Thesis has verified the online measurement system for cotton production by the laboratory test, and theresults show that the system is designed reasonable and runs stably, which can realize the function ofautomatic data acquisition, processing, display and storage. In addition, in this paper, the furtherdevelopment and perfection of the online measurement system for cotton production was put forward.
