This paper study the green landscapes in Chanba ecological zone, Xi’an. According tothe growing condition and distribution of the plants,114typical samples are taken in9regions within the ecological zone which are: Guangyuntan avenue, Beichen road, NationalWetland Park, Bahe west road, Ouya avenue, Chanhe west road, Chanba avenue, Yanminglake, Baliu road. The measurement indexes are as follows: pH, organic matter, total nitrogen, alkaline hydrolysis nitrogen, total phosphorus, available phosphorus, total potassium, available potassium, urease, phosphatase, invertase, catalase. We use the correlationcoefficient method and Nemerow index method to evaluate the soil fertility. The results indicated that the type of Chanba soil was dominated by alkaline soil, Theaverage value of soil pH was8.52. The average values of green space soil organic matter, total nitrogen and alkali-hydrolyzable nitrogen was9.85g. kg-1,0.64g. kg-1,25.52g. kg-1,they were low. The average values of green space total phosphorus, available phosphorus, total potassium and available potassium were2.10g. kg-1,15.69mg. kg-1,25.28g. kg-1,203.71mg. kg-1, total phosphorus and potassium were hingh, available phosphorus andavailable potassium enriched. The average values of green space soil sucrase, urease, phophatase and catalase activities were3.10mg.g-1,0.58mg.g-1,1.12mg.g-1,0.82mL.g-1respectively. The soil nutrient properties and enzyme activities had differences among greenparks. There were varying degrees of correlations between different soil enzymes as well assoil nutrient properties. Soil urease, sucrase, phophatase, catalase activities and soil fertilityproperties such as soil organic matter etc. had correlation, and their activities can be taken asone of index for assessing soil fertility.Because of the urban construction and human activities, the soil in the green landscapesare extrinsic and the natural soil layers are severely damaged. Thus lead to poor capacity ofwater and fertilizer preserving. Therefore, several measures can be taken to improve thecondition: rational application of organic and inorganic fertilizer, scientific planning of plants, soil remediation and soil improvement, enhancing supervision of the soil, formulatingprocedures of proper fertilizing, propaganda and education.
