| Site Classification is the basis for the scientific management of forestry resources.Traditional site investigation took a lot of wild and collect information work of human, material and financial resources. The combination Geographic Information System (GIS),Remote Sensing (RS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology can be obtained inlarge-scale, multi-temporal and spatial resolution, analyze and manage the distribution offorest resources and forest site information. In this paper, we descripted quantitative topographic position in space by the means ofrelative position index method of GIS technology to extract topographic position and solvedthe problems for the traditional site type classification deficits. Combining aspect, slope ofstudy area-Yongping, Yongshou, a small watershed landscape scale site Classificationtechnology system is established based on3S technology. Fast Loess Plateau forest siteclassification, query, analyze, expression and management is achieved. This method providesa means of technical support for afforestation planning and design. |
