Transplanting of big trees has become an important method of urban landscaping. However, the transplanting can destroy the tree body metabolism balance because of root cutting, which affects absorption of water and nutrient and leads to weak growth even death. Indolebutyric acid (IBA) and6-benzylaminopurine (6-BA) are universally applied growth regulatory substance, that promote the cell division of root and branch and induce callus. It has theoretical significance and application value for city landscape construction to discuss the effects of the two growth regulatory substance on root and branch recovery of transplanted trees.New transplanted camphor trees (Cinnamomum camphora L.) was the material of this study. Double factors crack area test was designed for the experiment. The transplanted camphor trees was treated with transfusion of different concentration of IBA and6-BA in trunk, and was monitored the growth of root system(cumulative root length, total root surface area, average root diameter and the cumulative root volume) regularly. The buds generation number and branch increment were counted and leaf relative chlorophyll content (SPAD value) and leaf weight (dry and fresh weight) were measured to discuss the effect of IBA and6-BA on tree vigor recovery of transplanted large camphor trees. The main research results are as follows:(1) Different concentration of IBA treatments on the camphor tree root growth produced the influence of different level. IBA can promote the root length, total root surface area and root volume, but inhibited the average diameter of fine root. The concentration of0.5,1.0,2.0,4.0mg/L of IBA can increase the root length, total root surface area and root volume significantly, and the concentration of2.0mg/L had the best effect. The concentration of0.5,1.0,2.0,4.0mg/L of IBA can decrease the average diameter of fine root significantly, and the concentration of2.0mg/L had the most obvious effect.Different concentration of IBA treatments had different effects on the shoot germination and leaf increment. The concentration of2.0,4.0mg/L of IBA can increase the number of shoot germination significantly and improve branch increment. The number of shoot germination achieved maximum on the concentration of2.0mg/L while the branch increment achieved maximum on the concentration of4.0mg/L. Leaf dry weight and fresh weight increased on the concentration of1.0,2.0and4.0mg/L of IBA significantly with the2.0and4.0mg/L being both best.(2) The concentration of1.0mg/L of6-BA can increase the number of bud germination and improve branch increment, relative chlorophyll content and leaf dry weight. However,6-BA can reduce the leaf fresh weight in a certain extent.(3) The combination of IBA and6-BA was significantly better than sigle plant growth regulator for tree vigor recovery of transplanted large camphor trees. In the combination, IBA mainly promote the growth of root system and6-BA mainly regulate growth of branches. The concentration combination of2.0mg/L of IBA and1.0mg/L of6-BA was the best for promote the tree vigor recovery of transplanted large camphor trees.
