Status Of Feed Manufacture In Jiangsu Province And The Detection On Transgenic Organisms From Plants In Feed

In1994, the world’s first genetically modified crops approved to enter the market in the United States,10years after, the research of genetically modified crops into the period of rapid development.Up to now, more and more genetically modified crops species entering or about to enter the commercialization of planting stage. Status of Jiangsu province’s feed manufacture in2011was presented. In this article and some of my views with countermeasures related to management of genetically modified feed were also discussed.This study is based on the feed samples were extracted in the Northern Jiangsu on the market for the material (Feed category includes:suckling pig with concentrated feed, concentrated feed of the production of fattening pigs, geese with the feed, the feedstuff of duck, dairy cow concentrate feed and so on. The main plant material components:soybean meal, corn, rapeseed meal, cottonseed meal), the traditional CTAB method and simplified CTAB method were choosed for the extraction of DNA, and the extract was analysised by PCR amplification and agarose gel electrophoresis, aiming at understanding the share of its logo on the regional market of genetically modified feed.The survey report showed that there were60kinds of feed with genetically modified organism in it but only3kinds of feed labeled. The occupancy of genetically modified feed and the labeling rate of genetically modified feed were92%and5%.confirming the simplified CTAB method for the quality of DNA extraction, and lay the foundation for the follow-up study with genetically modified feed qualitative and quantitative detection.The degradation of CaMV35S promoter and NOS terminator were detected by using different fragments-size PCR primers. It was found that the stability of genes was different under different processing conditions. The fragments whose length is under200bp are characteristic of good stability.
