In order to control the pest of eggplant in greenhouse, the toxicity of12pesticides to egg, young nymph, old nymph, adult of B-type Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) and adult of Encarsia formosa were evaluated, and the toxicity of seven out of them, which showed higher toxicity to the whitefly, to adult aphid of Acyrthosiphon solani (Kaltenbach) and pest mite Tetranychus cinnabarinus (Boisduval) were also investigated. Finaly, the influence of tape formulation developed with avermectin and fenoxycarb on whitefly and the wasp were tested in laboratory. The results were summarized as follows:(1) Pyriproxyfen, avermectin, acetamiprid, nitenpyram and imidacloprid showed high toxicity to egg of B-biotype B. tabaci; thiacloprid, butylene fipronil, spirotetramat, ethiprole, acetamiprid, avermectin, pyriproxyfen, chlorantraniliprole, imidacloprid, pymetrozine and nitenpyram displayed high toxicity to young nymph of B-biotype B. tabaci; ethiprole, spirotetramat, acetamiprid, pyriproxyfen and chlorantraniliprole exhibited high toxicity to old nymph of B-biotype B. tabaci; avermectin, nitenpyram, thiacloprid, butylene fipronil, acetamiprid, chlorantraniliprole, ethiprole, pymetrozine, thiamethoxam and spirotetramat revealed high toxicity to adult of B-biotype B. tabaci.(2) The relative safe pesticides to Encarsia formosa were spirotetramat, pyriproxyfen, pymetrozine, chlorantraniliprole, avermectin and thiacloprid.(3) Thiacloprid, butylene fipronil, nitenpyram, ethiprole, avermectin, chlorantraniliprole and spirotetramat showed high toxicity to aphid adult of Acyrthosiphon solani, and only avermectin manifested its high toxicity to the pest mite, Tetranychus cinnabarinus.(4) The tape formulation of avermectin was effective to adult of B-biotype B. tabaci, and its application reduced significantly the total egg production of B. tabaci because it killed a lot of adult whitefly, but did not affect the hatchability of the eggs produced by the survived adult whitefly. However, the tape formulation of avermectin also displayed high lethal effect to the adult of Encarsia formosa and can reduce the total parasitizatism. The tape formulation of fenoxycarb showed low toxicity to adult of B. tabaci and slightly reduced the fecundity and hatchability of B. tabaci, and also displayed inhibition effect to the parasite by reducing adult number and parasitized number per wasp of Encarsia formosa. |
