| Since there are some problems in design and construction of Mountain forests in urban,such as we often overlook biodiversity principles, build an unstable forest communities. I nthe most case, hill woods in city have simple structure and lack color changing and seasonvariation for its appearance. In view of this situation, the five typical urban hill forests inMaanshan city,such as Jiashan Park, Yushan Park, Maanshan, Huaguoshan, Cuiluoshan,were selected for analysis in the paper. Based on field sample investigation, the speciescomposition and structure of forest stands were summarized, and public opinion poll forbeauty of different community types was done as well. Then a comprehensive assessmentindex system including structure, ecological benefit and landscape beauty was created tomake a integrated appraisement of hill woods. The author put forward suggestions onmanagement for Mountain forests. The results were as follows:The total area of hill woods in the study area covers528.2hm2, and reached to50.2%of urban forest patches. It is apparent that the hill woods are the most important element ofurban forest in the city.Structure of communities in different Urban hill forest, such as species composition,DBH distribution pattern, tree height and health situation were described and communitycharacter value, such as species diversity, abundance index, evenness index, dominanceindex and species importance value are accounted, which was used to make a more detaildescription of communities.Based on sample survey, the dominance canopy species of Jiashan Park areCinnamomum camphora,Elaeocarpus sylvestris,Celtis tetrandra; That in Yushan Park areCinnamomum camphora,Celtis tetrandra,Cedrus deodara,Broussonetia papyrifera;Dominance species of Maanshan are Broussonetia papyrifera, Celtis tetrandra,Liquidamba formosana, Pinus massoniana, Pinus thunbergii; That in Huaguoshan arePinus taeda, Cunninghamia lanceolata; Dominance species of Cuiluoshan are Ligustrumlucidum, Celtis tetrandra,Sophora japonica,Cupressus funebris.Diversity index for Jiashan Park is1.17, evenness index0.65and richness index0.027, the dominance index is0.395; for Yushan Park is1.68,0.704,0.071and0.276respectively; for Maanshan is1.33,0.705,0.028and0.346respectively; for Huaguoshan is1.15,0.45,0.037and0.551respectively; for Cuiluoshan is2.06,0.78,0.065and0.175respectively. The diversity index and evenness index for Cuiluoshan is highest, while thedominance index is the lowest. Richness index for Yushan Park is highest index anddiversity index only next to Cuiluoshan. Dominance index for Jiashan Park was higher, diversity and richness index is lower. Richness index for Maanshan is the lowest.Dominance index for Huaguoshan is the highest,diversity and evenness index is the lowest.Total27community types are described for the5hills, such as Cinamomumcamphora+Elaeocarpus sylvestris, Pinus taeda, Shemasuperba-Juniperus komarovi.+Lindera glauca, Celtis sincensis+Robinia pseduacacia etc.Mountain forests have different soil nutrients, soil organic matter are significantlypositively correlated with total N content. Forest biomass has great relevance to soil total Ncontent and organic matter positively.The biomass of hill woods in the studyarea ranges from66.10to162.35t hm-2, andthere is an significant difference for different hill forest. The biomass and carbon density ofCuiluoshan hill forest was ranked the first,then Jiashan Park> Yushan Park> Huaguoshan>Maanshan in order.The two landscapes in these studied Mountain forests, Roadscape and in-forestlandscape were identified in the paper, the method of Scenic Beauty Es timation was usedto draw public’s aesthetic trends. The results showed that city residents enjoy the naturalforest, but the complex and messy stands will imply unsafety and insecurity, people likemore big trees in forest, forest road require artificial, trees should be ornamental, moderatedensity, there should be visual permeability. We should attach importance to shrubs andunder story species, which have higher diversity but not too density.From the mountain forest structure and landscape and ecological function analysis,the authour establish the comprehensive assessment system. The system included8indices:diversity index, evenness index, richness index, dominance index tree,health index,application of native tree species, carbon density, scenic beauty index. The results showedthat: Cuiluoshan> Yushan Park>Jiashan Park> Maanshan> Huaguoshan. |
