This thesis is the conclusion of the research and development of the DC intelligent high voltage generator. The project of the whole system and the power section is described in details.The technology is based on switching power supply. The half bridge and full bridge topology is combined to form the power section circuit. Half bridge section is responsible for regulating the output voltage and full bridge section is used to convert DC voltage to AC voltage. The cockcroft-walton circuit is applied to get the high voltage output. All sections of the system are controlled by MCU and CPLD.The parameters used in the power section is designed and given in details. IRFP460 is used in the device. In order to decrease the weight and increase the efficiency of the device, half bridge circuit works with the frequency of 40kHz and full bridge circuit works with 20kHz. The output voltage can be modified by regulating the PWM of half bridge section.The magnetic components include the high frequency transformer, the inductance are the key problems of the system. All the magnetic components in this system are designed in the combination of calculations and experiments.The control circuit and the over-voltage/current circuits are also introduced. Parts of program of MCU and CPLD are also provided.Design of driver circuit is one of the key problems. A316J is used in this system to complete the driver circuit which can connect with MCU or CPLD directly. It can also provide as large as 2A driver current.Large quantities of experiments have been implemented in the process of research and development. Many waveform and experiment data are recorded and presented in this thesis. The results show that the power section of the DC high voltage generator can work reliably.
