With the rapid development of the social economy, the traditional fossil energy hasbeen unable to meet the needs of social development. Energy and environment structureof China and the problem of global climate change that related to the energy using arebecoming more and more serious. On January82014, Xinjiang Turpan District NationalRenewable Energy Demonstration City that has been identified as the first new energydemonstration city and Industrial Park, which was listed by the National Energy Bureauidentified.According to the principle of maximum using of solar energy resources, which isutilizing more sunshine and improving the micro climate to carry out the design ofplanning of photovoltaic(PV) power system. Through investigating of Turpan region’selectricity local historical data and analyzing load characteristics are in order to completeelectric load forecasting of the Turpan new energy demonstration zone. On the basis ofensuring the structural safety and the principle of maximizing the using of solar energyresources are in order to get the forecasting values of PV power by analysis andcalculation.For the types of13kinds of building roofs in demonstration zones, the equipmentselection of PV modules and inverters and the designing of the grid-connected PV systemhave been completed. A unit micro-grid project is built in each building and a0.4kVdistribution system is combined by the PV system and the power load nearby. Theelectricity management system (EMS) is that the generation of PV system is powered forthe building load; surplus power is sent to grid and is dispatched by grid schedule in itsown micro-grid system. The electricity metering methods is that the PV generations up tothe grid and the power load down from the grid have been separated to measure.By the end of2013, the first-stage project of solar PV roof area had achieved94069m2, the total capacity achieved13.4MWp, an annual generation capacity achieved15800000kWh and they will reduce the carbon dioxide emissions about16197t per year.It is the largest micro-grid engineering in China and undoubtedly it has a strong rolemode.
