With the rapid development of social economy, energy consumption increases gradually. Coal oil and gas and other non-renewable resources become more scarce, at the same time environmental pollution problems have become increasingly prominent. In order to reduce fossil energy consumption while ensuring the energy demand of social economic development, as the world’s most technologically sophisticated, the largest and most promising renewable energy technologies, wind power is developing rapidly.With the continuous growth of wind power installed capacity, the ability of power grid to accept wind poweris an important restrictions factor in the development of wind power. In particular in China’s " Three North" regionswhere the cogeneration units installed proportions is high, limited by the heating demand the power grid can not accept all the wind power, a lot of wind energy resources are wasted. The currentmethods of analysisthe ability of power grid to accept wind power is relatively simple to deal with cogeneration units, does not accurately reflect the influence of demand for heating on the flexibility of cogeneration units and the entire power system.In this paper, a model of analysis the ability of power grid to accept wind power is established taking into account the constraintsof heating. Then some modules using for promoting wind power consumptive are added into the model. We call the improved model a model of analysis the promotion ofwind power consumptivebased onelectricity for heating. At last the improved model is applied to studying on the ability of power grid to accept wind power and the effect of measures for promoting wind power consumptive. The main contents are as follows:1. A model of analysis the ability of power grid to accept wind power is established taking into account the constraints of heating. The objective of the model is minimizing the total system co st. Not only the constraints of power balance, the unit characteristics and spare demand consideredbut also heating balance, the coupling of thermal production an power production of CHP units are taken into account. A currently used method and the model established in this paper are usedfor studying on the wind power capacity accepted by power gridrespectively in the same example system.2. Measures based on electric heating for promoting wind power consumptive are proposed from both the load side and supply side. Then modeling the various measures one by one and integrating them into the model proposed previously. In addition, the final improved model which is called a model of analysis the promotion of wind power consumptive based on electricity for heating is applied to a example system.3. In order to reduce wind power curtailment rate of power system in Aprovince to10%, three programs are proposed. The improved model is used to analyze the scale of every program to achieving the target. When the scales are determined, an economic analysis of various programs is made in this paper finally.
