At present, oil reduction and environment pollution have arrived the degree ofcontrol and governance due to the use of internal combustion engine automobile. Allcountries in the world are presenting the road of sustainable development, which lead to arapid development of the lead-acid battery as the main power source in electric vehicles.Because of advantages of low prices, green, safe and convenient, electric bicycle andelectric motorcycle are popular with most consumers. With the improvement of theindustrial development environment, the acceleration of the rural road construction andthe improvement of residents’ income level, the market space would further expand andsocial ownership on electric vehicles would increase further. In recent years, fireincidents of electric bicycle occurred frequently in our country while the electric carownership is still increasing, due to incomplete market regulation and unsound technicalstandards. Therefore, the analysis and research on causes of fire lead-acid battery systemis very necessary.In this paper, first of all, according to the theory of accelerated life in reliabilitytechnique, charging current has been selected as the accelerated variable to analyze theaccelerate life testing method of lead-acid battery.Taking6-DZM-12lead-acid battery ina48V electric bicycle as testing object, we analyze the testing results. It shows that thecharging current and the cycle life of lead-acid battery are matched with the inversepower-law equation, providing a convenient method for sample selection in subsequenttest. Secondly, lead-acid battery system (lead-acid battery itself, charger and theconnection) is studied in different circumstances. We design reasonable experimentalprogram via test method and analyzed the data via advanced data acquisition equipment.Experimental results show that, the first, lead-acid battery itself temperature is not high inall sorts of test environment, almost no risk; the second, because of more internal storageand difficult heat dissipation, the fan faulted charger is at high risk; the third, in differentcircumstances, when the battery short circuit occur, the connection lines as fire origin isat the highest risk. We could find out the electric fire source, according to the analysis and research ofthe cause of lead-acid battery system, and then adopted effective solution for electric carmanufacturers and users base on the cause of fire, thus reducing the probability of electricfire, ensuring users’ personal safety and reducing property losses, at the same time,improving the quality of electric products.
