Because of its unique geographical environment and rich functionality, the waterfront commercial public space is gradually attracted people’s attention. Meanwhile the construction and development of waterfront commercial public space can enhance the value of the waterfront business even the whole waterfront area.At present China is in a period of major construction to develop the waterfront area, at the time of construction may face a lot of problems.Under this background, according to the studyof waterfront commercial public space I hope can devote my power to waterfront building.The main study of this paper is how to make full use of the excellent waterfront resource and enhance the value of the business. We analyze the emerging issus and status quo of the waterfront commercial public space in the hope that the solution to these problems can be found.Firstly, the paper that from the big aspect classified the waterfront business zone according to the different criterias and clarify the fundamental characteristics of each waterfront business zone to explore the design principles of waterfront commercial public space. Then study what is the meaning of the development of waterfront commercial public space to waterfront even the whole city. Then the paper go into the interior of waterfront commercial public space classifical its function and study the layout and relationship of each functions.It sums up the main points and design principles of waterfront commercial public space.Finally,the paper sort out the landscape environment of waterfront commercial public space and study how to combine the ecological protecting and landscape designing. At the end of the paper I combined a waterfront project to implement the study that as I said above.
