With advances in economic and social development, vehicle ownership rate increasedyear by year, led to a rapid growth in traffic demand. On the other hand due to variousrestrictions, traffic supply grew more slowly. Supply and demand imbalance in thedevelopment of the current traffic congestion caused by the increasing normalization, whichnot only led to many problems of traffic congestion traffic safety, it is increasing the delayof vehicles, especially in urban roads, brought to people’s travel inconvenience. Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the mechanism of congestion, clear the degree of congestion degree,so as traffic control, traffic guidance and planning level and provide a reliable basis forgovernance preconditions method means traffic congestion. Based on the analysis of varioustraffic status indicators on the basis of selected regional macro can reflect the state ofscientific indicators. As the macro indicators are generally not able to be obtained directlyfrom the detector, so this paper established a relationship macroeconomic indicators andtraffic parameters available between. According to the above, the following specific researchin this paper:The first chapter is an introduction, describes the state of the regional road networktraffic identification research background and separately from the road, the intersection ofthe regional road network level and two levels of current research are discussed, summarizedthe current urgent issues raised in this study based on the purpose and significance of this,and to further define the structural framework of the paper, laid the foundation for laterexpansion.The second chapter is selected for regional status indicators, based on the analysis ofprevious studies on the traffic status indicators used in their study were from a real-time,accessibility, accuracy and intuitive aspects are analyzed, and as a reference basis for theselected area status evaluation. Further, the detection means, the paper comparative analysisof the characteristics of each detector, on the basis of the detection data of the type usedherein to make a choice.The third chapter estimates for regional travel speed, in order to get the regional statusindicators can accurately characterize the state of regional traffic through indirect calculationof some traffic parameters can be measured, i.e. the regional average travel speed, this chapter explores the relationship between the regional average queue length and stroke rate,to establish a correlation between the two models, and its simulation verification. Thusbridges the gap can be measured parameters and regional traffic between state indicators.The forth chapter calculation model for the establishment of queue length, loopdetectors to be collected to place data into the traffic flow parameters queue lengthparameters, and then to travel speed estimation model to provide the necessary inputparameters. This chapter is based cell transmission model (CTM) is estimated to get trafficdensity within each cell, described the evolution of the vehicle at the intersection queuingprocess, and then the tail cell vehicles arrive and leave the case to the tail positiondetermining, queue length obtained on the basis of the vehicle, combined with MATLABlanguage and become VISSIM traffic flow simulation software has been validated andsimplified calculation model.The fifth chapter gives summary and outlook, which is related research for this paper,and elaborate innovation and job prospects for further research.
