Variety, low-volume, customization, and quick response to market changes, thesefeatures gradually become the modern manufacturing’s label. Those features also putforward higher production line requirements. And that is the reason why flexibleproduction line design theories are the study of many scholars today. However, thecurrent design theories can only meet the needs of flexible production lines in acertain time. Existing design theory can only partially solve the flexible productionline requirements, and can not meet the long-term development of manufacturingenterprises. In this paper, the design theories in recent years were reviewed. In thispaper, we propose a design theory named Axiomatic-Behavior theory. And we hopingto use the Axiomatic-Behavior theory to building a flexible production line from anoverall perspective view.At first, axiomatic theory and behavioral theory are reviewed. By comparing theapplication of these three theories, we choose axiomatic theory and behavioral theoryas a basis to solve the flexible production lines’ design problems. We used bothaxiomatic theory and behavioral theory to solve the flexible production lines’ designproblems in this paper. Combining the cases in this paper, we provided the frameworkmodels of both axiomatic theory and behavioral theory to solve the flexibleproduction lines’ design problems. In the course of case study, the behaviors of theflexible production line which is for the first time put forward are defined in detail.And the relationships between the behaviors of the production line have beenrecognized.By analyzing these cases, we find that axiomatic theory and behavioral theoryare not able to propose a good solution to the problem of the flexible production linedesign. Therefore, we combines the advantages of axiomatic theory and behavioraltheory and propose a new theory to solve the flexible production lines’ designproblems which we called Axiomatic-Behavior theory. After the definition ofAxiomatic-Behavior theory, we propose the framework model. Combining the casesin this paper, we proved the theory to solve the general problems of flexible production lines’ design problems.Then we use a real machining factory as practical background, and we useAxiomatic-Behavior theory to solve the design problems of the real machining factory.This paper propose two solutions by using Axiomatic-Behavior theory, and thedifference between those programs is that the costs are different. We use simulationsoftware which is called Em-plant to simulate those two programs. And we alsosimulate the program which is from the factory. After comparing the data from thesimulation of those three programs, we can determine that Axiomatic-Behavior theorycan well meet the capacity requirements of the actual case. That illustrates thatAxiomatic-Behavior theory is practicable. Compared with other design theories,using Axiomatic-Behavior theory is able to get the design conducive to long-termdevelopment of enterprises.This paper proposes a new design theory to solve the problems of flexibleproduction lines design. And we prove that Axiomatic-Behavior theory has a certainuniversality and practicality, and Axiomatic-Behavior theory can solve the flexibleproduction lines’ design problems well.
