The idea of the underwater gliding round dish is put forward according to urgent improvement needs of active oil spill tracking buoys in the field of oil spill tracking and monitoring. The dish passive oil spill tracking buoy is improved by the drive and control principle of the underwater glider. The underwater gliding round dish both has water surface drifting features of a dish oil spill tracking buoy and excellent underwater sports performance underwater glider. The function of short-distance tracking error correction and specified water monitoring is implemented.This project is carried out on the basis of the oil spill tracking buoys and underwater gliders. Methods of underwater glider motion control theory, viscous CFD method. The tailless dish shaped oil spill tracking buoy was simulated numerically, and the hydrodynamic coefficient calculation method. And the dimensionless hydrodynamic coefficients with foreign research data are compared and demonstrated, which verified the feasibility of the calculation method.Movement features and control laws of the underwater gliding round dish are revealed. The requirement of the oil spill buoy designing technology improvement is realized. The foundation is laid for the realization of the wide range of applications of active oil spill tracking buoys.
