With constantly built and put into using, passenger dedicated lines gradually show the characteristics of network operation, the utilization of EMU becomes very critical under the network conditions. It relates that the transportation task of train running regulation provided can be completed, and whether the utilization efficiency of EMU gets sufficient playing or not. In the case of insurance EMU reasonable maintenance, how to develop EMU utilization planning, and make minimum number of EMU which has put into operation, and the shortest connection time, and the highest service efficiency, which has become the key issues of the research stage. In this paper, contrary to the situation of passenger dedicated line into a network, treating the shortest EMU connection time as optimal target, and taking full consideration to the emu model, maintenance base, repair capability and other conditions, and research EMU linkage scheme optimization problem. This paper studies the main content is as follows:1. After passenger dedicated lines gradually into a network, it analyzed the EMU utilization difference of network pre or post from the three aspects, such as motor train-set operation, maintenance, and network basic attribute. Compare aspects from the road network scale, passenger flow situation, the motor train-set mode of network pre or post, and get the new characteristics of passenger dedicated lines into network. And then analyzes the related factors that influence efficiency of EMU.2. With no fixed section of the motor train-set mode as the foundation, from two aspects of base station and types of EMU in-depth, from a single base, model, not to consider maintenance condition starting.Firstly, the paper studied motor train-set optimization problems of a single base and model, when the maintenance condition was not considered; motor train-set optimization problem was the standard assignment problem, when the emu mileage maintenance and time maintenance were considered, it studied the relationship between the primary and secondary cumulative running mileage, the primary total time, and the running line connection, the emu maintenance. Then it was researched deeply from these aspects of a single base to multiple bases, a single type to multiple types, not consider maintenance repair to consider. When multi-base conditions were considered, the model of the emu which accessed to the base station for maintenance operations matched with the maintenance function of base station, and no more than the maintenance ability of base station to the type of emu. When the variety of models were considered, the model of the motor train-set which assume a certain running path need to match with the running line. Finally, with the EMU utilization of time to a minimum as the optimization goal, it established the mathematical model of various circumstances.3. Motor train-set optimization mathematical model of multiple bases and types was combination optimization model under considering maintenance conditions, and the existing classical algorithms are not well to solve. Through analysis of the problems, it was transformed into a multi-traveling salesman problem, and designed ant colony algorithm to solve it.4. Taking Shanghai-Nanjing, Shanghai-Hangzhou, Nanjing-Hangzhou, Hangzhou-Ningbo, Wuhan-Hefei, and Hefei-Nanjing passenger dedicated line network as example, the related information provided by China’s railway customer service center as the known data, it was adopted to establish the relevant mathematical model of the paper to optimization the example. Establishment motor train-set plan of each passenger dedicated lines in example, it caulated the EMU average connection time of various cases, compare the results of various cases, and verified the correctness of the models and algorithm.
