China is one of the most widely distributed loess country in the world. Large area of loess is distributed in Northwest China. With the westward infrastructure, highway and rail for demanding linear formation of loess slope will increase the number and height. Therefore, engineering geological problems associated with loess slope concern. In this paper, high loess slope of a station in MengXi Railway as an engineering background. Since the station requires a certain width, so the left side of the road along the original slope excavation, excavation Start DK435+595, end DK435+720, a length of about135m, the maximum height of slope is about78m. According to exploration drilling, trenching, mainly in the areas proposed slope Q4and Q3sandy loess, Q4sandy loess formation of new short time, the thickness of4~18m range, large soil pores, was loose state, with collapsible. Q3sandy loess soil of new uniform, no tuberculosis layer and gravel layer, the intensity compared to Q4sandy loess large number of new drilling revealed a thickness of about32m. In line bedrock outcropping on the right side valley lowlands, the Triassic Yanchang sandstone. Through field investigation, in the middle of the proposed area has a less stable slope steeper cut, the trailing edge of the distribution of tension cracks, the maximum width of about12cm. In addition, the lower part of the original slope has also developed two large gullies, the trailing edge of a steep cut no deformationTaking as an example the engineering background, mainly on the argument following aspects:1. Through field reconnaissance, survey, drilling and other means to collect engineering geological characteristics of loess slope location, using limit equilibrium method and FLAC3D Lagrangian method respectively, from the perspective of quantitative and qualitative analysis of global and local stability of the original slope, and to predict the failure mode of the original slope may occur.2. Made from pure grading slope angle design, using limit equilibrium method and FLAC3D computing global and local slope stability, set the width and position to explore the impact of a large platform on the local and overall stability of the slope.3. Propose two solutions depending on the pile retaining position, and program comparison and anti-slide pile design calculations using FLAC3D Lagrangian method to simulate the effect of anti-slide pile reinforcement.
