As the life blood of the national economy, railroad system is also a very common vehicle. Safety grasp is the eternal theme of railway transportation. To play a positive role in national economic construction and to meet people’s and economic construction’s needs are the important criteria of testing the gains and loss of railway department. As an important part of rail track, the tunnel usually meets a series of problem because of geology,design implementation and operations management, etc. The most common one is tunnel lining disease which severely affect the safe operation of the tunnel.Thus it can affect the whole railway system. The limit constructed in the tunnel is used to ensure the normal operation of the communication system in tunnel.The precondition to operate the railway is the insurance of tunnel limit safety. It is regulated that there must be no obstacle within certain height and width range. Thus it seems to be very important to carry out relative research about tunnel lining disease inspect and tunnel limit.There are already many researches about tunnel lining surface crack detection. But still many problems exist. This is because of lining surface’s complexity and diversity which bring complexity to research. This essay is about the rapid extraction of tunnel lining surface crack,which using data collection tool to get the image and position data of tunnel lining surface,and it also discusses the basic thought of tunnel lining surface crack extraction.First of all,we have to preprocess the image data and laser range finder data, which mainly include the correction of image lens aberration,image enhancement and number settlement about one single band image data. Number settlement is done mainly according to rotating angel of precise turning table.And the ranging data of laser range finder can be gotten by using linear interpolation to get enough distance parameter which can be used to plotting scale correction. The image data and laser range finder data can be relevantly processed according to angel relation. Then we can do integral plotting scale correction to image data, integral image montage,crack extraction of tunnel surface and the calculation of crack width. By means of laser finder data to correct image plotting scale, by means of phase correlation to make the image into a two dimensional pulse signal. Thus we can get the registration parameter of the image in order to realize a rapid image montage. According to the edge extraction of the roberts operator in matlab, we can extract tunnel lining surface crack.
