In the competitive market, some newer, better and more efficient design patterns tend tobe desired in the mechanical products development. Based on the collaborative design thought,combined with database technology, parametric technology, modular technology and networktechnology, the paper complete the collaborative design system of overhead bridge crane byintegrating the design module, the download module of interchangeable parts of overheadbridge crane and calculation module into a system, realize the integrated design.Through analyzing the characteristics of network design system and structurecharacteristics of the traditional network design, the paper formulate the structure ofcollaborative design system based on the network and the communication mechanism of thesystem, the paper establish the framework model of collaborative product of overheadtraveling crane based on network and explain the function of each part of the system in detail.The key technology of network collaborative design system for bridge crane is described.Data storage and data sharing of database are studied; variant design technology and finiteelement analysis technology based on parametric are discussed, and the realization methodbased on the instance is introduced; and we study the modular design technology and networktechnology at the same time.The development goal and development tools of the system are formulated, the papergive the module partition method of the metal structure of overhead bridge crane and exploit acollaborative design system of overhead bridge crane, the design module, the downloadmodule of interchangeable parts of overhead bridge crane, calculation module and networkmodule for the release are described in detail.The development of the overhead bridge Crane Collaborative designing system basedon the network provides a new idea to the modern product design method, it allows users to participate in the design, shortens design cycle, improves the design efficiency, and meets thedemand of the market.
