| Theater has developed from ritual space to a necessary part of modern people’s cultural life since it was created thousands years ago. As the core of theater design, auditorium gains more attraction than any other part. Nowadays with the science and technology highly developed, the architecture design of auditorium is in a standardized and industrialized process, however, the design of the human spirit gains less attraction. How to create comfortable atmosphere and an interactive performance environment is becoming the key point of the design of auditorium.Since the beginning of the20th century, with the rapid development of psychology, the psychology theories have been applied in many other related fields. Gestalt psychology, topological psychology, and some other related aesthetic principles have been widely used in the field of urban architectural form architectural design, interior design, landscape design and other aspects related fields. As a kind of public building with large capacity, theater should be designed to satisfy the human feelings and the psychological behavior.The analysis on the auditorium in this paper is based on Gestalt psychology, visual dynamics theory underlying psychological theory, field theory, psychology and visual dynamics. Based on a large number of cases, this paper sums up the principle of auditorium visual dynamics field and analyzes the environmental background of auditorium, which makes the performance and visual behavior happen. The research is based on the psychological theories and aim to develop the theory of space form and methods for further exploration in auditorium design. And this paper is supposed to provide a new psychological support of auditorium design, which should be focused on the senses of human’s mind and the creation of a sound atmosphere and environment. |
