Liquid metal fusion blanket is one of the main candidates of the blanket concepts. The motion of liquid metal in fusion reactor strong magnetic field can cause serious Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) effect, lead to changes of the flow character and heat transfer, and increase the pressure drop. So, to study MHD effect deeply is significant to the design of liquid metal fusion blanket and safety of fusion reactor. The thermal-hydraulic measurement technologies are essential to liquid metal MHD experiments.The China multi-functional liquid metal PbLi experimental loop DRAGON-â…£ is home-developed by FDS Team, and it is a significant experimental platform for research of key technologies in design of fusion reactor. The MHD experiment duct of DRAGON-â…£ loop is aim at investigation of LiPb flow characteristics under the magnetic field. In this paper, a square tube MHD experiment duct has been designed under consideration of the characteristics of the experiment duct and the design parameters of ITER-TBM. And a detailed measurement scheme of MHD pressure drop as well as flow rate of PbLi was given.A series of experimental measurements under different magnetic field intensity (1.1T/1.57T/1.74T/1.88T) and low flow rate (0-0.077m/s) have been carried out based on the design of the experiment duct as well as the measurement scheme. Comparing measured values with theoretical values and MTC numerical simulation values, found that the change tendencies of pressure drop of measured values and theory values were in good agreement, but there were still errors. And the results revealed that the measurement scheme was reliable and the operation of the loop kept stable. After this experiment, the pressure drop measurement technologies under high temperature, highly corrosive and intense magnetic field have been preliminary verified, and this will be a good support to future MHD experiments researches in more complex experiment ducts.
