Stone processing has a long history, in recent years, with the domestic building renovation and the rapid development of numerical control technology, an increasing demand for beautiful stone ornaments, thus stimulating the CNC stone processing equipment upgrades. The stone processing machinery is developing rapidly with increasing demand of the stone products. The demand of the most widely used stone bridge cutting machine is also rising rapidly. However, most of domestic productions is far from meeting the requirements of market because of low-automation, low-precision and single-function. Therefore, the method of "PC&motion control card" is proposed to develop stone bridge cutting machine CNC system which is high-precision and diverse-function.First, from the stone processing to expand the topic, combined with the current general development situation of stone processing machinery at home and abroad, the paper analysis the numerical control technology application in the stone bridge cutting machine CNC system and comes out the importance of the development of stone bridge cutting machine CNC system and developing trend. Then, the mechanical structure and function of the stone bridge cutting machine is introduced briefly. The system hardware structure is constructed and the googol motion control card is used as the control core. At last, the software architecture is designed, and it is divided into several modules according to different functions.Then, the paper briefly describes the study of stone bridge cutting machine CNC system for graphics, mainly analyzes the system of elliptical arcs and splines of reading DXF files, the system display graphics files, delete entities, restore DXF files and so on. Following, in the motion control module, some functions of the motion control card are introduced. According to the feature of cutting-grinding integration and sawing-milling combination, the tool structure and anti-shear conditions. The system’s cutter radius compensation of sawing, milling and grinding are deduced by adoption of C function cutter radius compensation algorithm. Additionally, the entire program of cutter compensation and the cutter compensation program of sawing, milling and grinding are all designed in the text. Automatic processing program of sawing, milling, grinding,sawing and milling, point select processing, grid processing are developed. Then, the location algorithm and cross angle algorithm in the processing of sawing are also deduced. Furthermore, it elaborates some key techniques in the process of the stone bridge cutting machine including Velocity Look-ahead in milling or grinding, Automatic Tool Changer, the Design Procedure of Tool Falling and Lifting and so on.On the basis of the above research, the CNC system of the stone bridge cutting machine with better function is finally developed. The results of the test also show that the system can realize automatic processing and it runs accurately and stablely, meeting the requirements of cutting-grinding integration and sawing-milling combination.
