So as the depletion of common fossil energy and the environmental pollution problemshave become more serious, more and more people will focus on the effective utilization ofsolar energy, because solar energy is a kind of clean and inexhaustible source. Currently, silicon or inorganic compound solar cells are mostly extensive used in commerce, it isbecause that this kind of solar cells has higher photoelectric conversion efficiency and thetechnology is more mature. But it also has its disadvantages such as high cost and complexprocess, in these aspects, the advantages of organic solar cells is very prominent, it has awide range of sources of material and simple manufacturing process and it could be madeinto flexible devices, and so on. So many scholars pay close attention to them. This article includes the following parts:(1) We synthetically introduced thedevelopment of solar cells, and introduced the basic classification and parameters of organicsolar cells.(2)This paper introduces the principle of local surface plasmon resonance effectand its application in solar cells.(3)chemical method was used to prepare different particlesize of gold nanoparticles hydrosol, and then measured their absorption spectrums.(4)Wetested the gold nanoparticles which we would use in this article for transmission electronmicroscopy (TEM), atomic force microscope and the absorption spectrum.(5) Wedemonstrated the plasmonic effect on poly P3HT: PCBM based BHJ polymer solar cells byincorporating Au NPs with different sizes and same quality percentage into the TiO2asbuffer layer. And the devices we manufactured here was gold nanoparticles mixed TiO2as abuffer layer, P3HT: PCBM as the active layer, molybdenum trioxide as anode buffer layer, silver as a metal electrode. The J-V tests result shows that, compared with no doped devicesthe performances of the device doped with gold nanoparticles whose diameter were~50nmwere improved the most.(6)In titanium dioxide buffer layer doped with different qualitypercentage and grain size of~50nm gold nanoparticles, a structure as ITO/TiO2: AuNPs/WO3/Ag solar cells were tested, the results show that when the doping amount was1.47wt%, the performance was improved the most. The PCE of device can be improved by40.91%, while maintaining the open-circuit voltage (VOC) and fill factor (FF).(7)To demonstrates the role of gold nanoparticles in the solar cell, simulated electric field analysis, absorption and transmission spectra measurement were tested and the photoelectricperformances were analyzed.(8)In the conclusion part, we gave some theories which canpossibly explain why there is a performance improvement in the organic solar cells afterdopting gold nanoparticles.(9)Summarizes the full text and the outlook.
