In proving ground, test stations usually stand thousands of meters away, need to establish a unified time base. Traditional time measuring instrument only suitable for short distance (tens to hundreds of meters) measure projectile flight time through wide range time-measuring instrument and the way of cable transmission signal. When test stations are dozens of kilometers away, cable wiring is difficult, and even harder to check the fault location. So we need to set up a set of test instrument to make test station time base stands unified.According to above requirements, we studied a kind of instrument based on GPS timing and SOPC technology. In this paper, we use target device as an example in test station. After the target position accurately calibrated, and we can figure out the projectile parameters by obtaining fly projectile reaching the target accurate UTC time. Firstly, this paper analyzed the high precision time transfer method, confirmed the way to realize test stations time synchronization by GPS timing. And we introduced the test principle of time synchronization and the overall scheme in detail.Secondly, according to the overall scheme, we designed the test station hardware circuit, logic circuit and control software. Hardware circuit is composed by projectile signal processing circuit and FPGA peripheral interface circuit. Logic circuit is mainly focused on the local second signal generating circuit, target signal microseconds counting circuit and we designed the wireless trigger function module of the test station based on existing platform. In Nios environment, we designed the control software and realized the control of test station working status.Finally, we simulated and debuged test station synchronization circuit modules and made experiment under the laboratory environment. Through the experiment of test station time synchronization circuit debugging, we verified the time synchronization precision. Meanwhile, we did the overall circuit synchronous error analysis and the experimental result showed that test station time synchronization scheme is feasible, time synchronization accuracy less than10μs.
