In recent years, the slope geologic hazards have affected many cities and counties nationwide, causing significant economic losses. So the prevention and control of the slope geologic hazards has become especially important. The supporting system of frame beam with pre-stressed anchor, as a new type of retaining structures for the slope protection, is widely applied in the protecting slopes and embankments of railways and highways, and obtains better result. However, the theoretical research of this kind of supporting system is lagged the practice because of its complexity mechanics mechanism. There are still no norms about the design of this structure in our country. The engineers often calculate the internal force of the frame beam by engineering analog or methods for building foundation. But because of these methods’limitation, all these methods are difficult to consider the actual mechanical behavior of the supporting system in reinforcement projects.First, this article introduces the use cases of different types of retaining structure through various stages of the development of slope retaining engineering, and especially emphasizes the development and the engineering application of this new type of retaining structure--frame beam with pre-stressed anchor. And then on the basis of the latest research results both in china and abroad, the paper analyzes the mechanism of frame beam with pre-stressed anchor, and discusses several calculation model of the internal force of frame beam. Moreover, combined with the actual reinforcement engineering case, the paper proves the accuracy and the feasibility of theoretical calculation methods for frame beam by means of the comparison and analysis of test results. Finally, considering the interaction of frame beam, side slope soil and the pre-stressed anchor, using the centrifuge model test and numerical simulating, this paper studies the mechanical mechanism and distribution characteristics of frame beam with pre-stressed anchor cable. In this paper, the effect of parameters, for example the size of frame beam, the material parameters, the anchorage distance, anchoring force, soil parameters.etc, on the force situation and distribution of frame beam is also studied. It may provide some useful references for design calculation for frame beam with pre-stressed anchor in the actual projects.
