With rapid development of science and technology and people demand upbeat, super-span spatial structures emerge largely. Investigation and analysis of seismic performance of spatial structures have been getting the scholars’ attentions both at home and abroad. What effect spatial structures would have under irresistible seismic action, how to consider seismic factors in the design process and how to determine analytical methods and controlling parameters qualitatively and quantitatively in the research are key problems at present.Based on existing researches and large-span spatial structures research project, this paper has done the following study on seismic response analysis of super-span double-layer reticulated shell structures:1. This study summarizes3existing seismic analysis methods:time-procedure analysis, seismic response spectrum and random vibration. And it provides a comprehensive view and comparison of the existing research.2. Considering the features of super-span spatial structures with close vibration frequencies and more significant effect under higher mode, reasonable damping ratios were discussed, improved Rayleigh damping arithmetic was put forward to satisfy the request designing accuracy.3. Rise span ratio, span and damping ratio were compared. Response spectrum and time history analysis of super-span double-layer reticulated shell structures, and internal force and displacement response analysis of weak sections under different earthquake waves were studied. And effects of seismic response under single-dimension and multi-dimensional excitation were discussed. Geometrical non-linear seismic analysis and double-nonlinear elastic-plastic time-history analysis were studied considering rare earthquake situation considering initial imperfections.4. Seismic response analysis under multi-support excitations was studied considering wave passage effect, beneficial results and seismic adjustment coefficients were worked out to guide design work. 5. This paper introduced theory of vector form intrinsic finite element (VFIFE), and checked it using self-compiled programs. Double-layer reticulated shell structure was simulated by using vector form intrinsic finite link element program developed by Dr. Xinan Xiang. The author completed visualization of program interface based on MATLAB GUI.
