In recent years, the building fire accidents happened frequently, which had a serious relationship with their organic heat preservation materials of building insulation layer. These fire accidents caused serious casualties and property losses, as a result, the market expects the high-efficient inorganic insulation materials, which will not burn in any conditions. The paper carried out a organic-inorganic composite foam glass thermal insulation material, and developed it into the inorganic insulation board of the cement and composite foam glass system by making composite foam glass particle aggregates. A kind of novel full spherical hollow obturator hydrated glass balls was also prepared.1) Based on the high viscosity Na2O-B2O3-SiO2sol, organic-inorganic composite foam glass thermal insulation material was produced by adding polymer emulsion through wet method. The properties were promoted significantly compared with the early product, the low temperature foam glass. The organic-inorganic composite one is more uniform and compact. The compressive strength was increased by65%, the strength retention rate was increased by46%, and the coefficient of thermal conductivity was decreased.2) Considering the performance influence of raw material formula and the forming process, developed a kind of composite foam glass particle aggregates with better pore structure and lower water absorb rate. With the early developed composite cementitious material performing as binder, pressed the particle aggregates into inorganic insulation board of the cement and composite foam glass system, and studied the industrialization process. In aspect of the manufacturing process, compared with inorganic insulation board of the cement and expanded perlite system, the ratio of water and the amount of composite cementitious materials were decreased significantly. In terms of performance, inorganic insulation board of the cement and composite foam glass system has the advantage of higher compressive strength under the same density, and has the advantage of lower density and lower coefficient of thermal conductivity under the same compressive strength. For the cost is basically the same, the inorganic insulation board of the cement and composite foam glass system has significant market competitiveness.3) The foaming progress and the foaming mechanism of the novel full spherical hollow obturator hydrated glass balls is explored, a series of full spherical hollow obturator hydrated glass balls with their diameter ranging from0.5-5mm is prepared.
