Theodolite is used to measure the space target range of modern motioncharacteristics, geometry and physical characteristics of the optical measuringinstruments, is one of the basic means of measurement. Modern theodolite is asubsystem that contains many complex and large optical and electrical systems, thetarget tracking measurement tasks require highly coordinated subsystems work,which requires transit between various sub-systems have good data communicationcapabilities. Based on this issue, this paper theodolite data communication systemconducted in-depth research, focuses on the ARM9-based embedded Linuxoperating system with theodolite data communication system design andimplementation.This paper first describes the data communication system in theodolitetheodolite system plays an important role, elaborated Research data communicationsystem is proposed based on the ARM controller chip, serial communications andnetwork communications hardware and software design.Then elaborated theodolite data communication system hardware designprogram, which based on the “core board–floor” design ideas, by extending theARM chip data communications capacity to meet the required communicationfunctions theodolite system. Completed the core board and backplane circuit design,and gives each functional module circuit diagram and working principle. Then, elaborated for data communication systems equipped with embeddedLinux operating system-related development principle and process, including thedevelopment environment to build, launch and guide the design process, the use ofthe file system, and the corresponding serial port, Ethernet port, displays, etc. devicedriver development.Finally, elaborated on the Linux operating system as the software platform forapplication software design, the design based on the “mechanism and policyseparation” method of program design, including the data receiving module and datatransmission module in two parts. The design has a good modularity, the success ofthe data communication system theodolite subsystems involved in a decoupling thesoftware level, so that each subsystem independently, thereby achieving therobustness and scalability is greatly simplified the program development anddebugging process.
