As vehicles increase, oil resources are runing out and inveromental issues aredeteriorating, this cause the development of vehicle used alternative fuel. Compared toothers, the nature gas, whose major component is methane, has advantages of highoctane value, low emission and good anti-knock quality. Therefore, the stydy oncombustion performance of methane is extremely significant. Currently, mechnaism ofthe combustion procedure is uncovered basically with the help of constant volumecombustion bomb system. The system adopted in this paper is composed of combustionchamber, temperature control system, air intake and exhaust system, ignition system,pressure acquisition system, flame pacture acquisition system and synchronous controlsystem.The purpose of this paper is to realise the rapid combustion of the methane-airmixture in the lean-burn condition, and then the issue of slow burning of the nature gascan be resolved. The diaphragm plate centered with adaptor orifice is emplyed in toseparate the bomb with precombustion chamber and main combustion chamber. Plateswith single orifice and plates with three orifices are chosed for this study. Fist ignite thethe mixture gas in the the main chanber, when propagating to the plate, the flame jettinginto the main chamber through the orifice to have the mixture gas burning rapidly. Withvarying the orifice diameter, equivalent ratio and initial pressure, also acquisition offlame schilieren photos and varying data of the combustion pressure, the flamepropagation velocity, instantaneous pressure, pressure peak, the maximum pressure riserate were analyzed, the effects of orifice diameter, initial pressure and equivalent ratioon mechanism of combustion characteristic for the methane-air mixture are obtained. |
