Cooling fan is one of the important parts of engine’s cooling system, and its role is to keep the engine cooling. Therefore, the higer requirements of the engine cooling fan are proposed: on the one hand, the cooling capacity of fan should be more powerful to meet the greater cooling system; the other hand, in order to reduce noise pollution, a lower noise cooling fan of radiation is required. So study the aerodynamic performance and noise of engine cooling fan is significant, with the development technology of CFD, using the technology of CFD to simulate the performance of fan is significant.Based on the basic ideas of fluid flow problem:theoretical analysis, CFD simulation, experimental measurements. This paper structure is below:Firstly, this paper describes the theoretical basis of the engine cooling fan performance analysis—cumputational fluid dynamics, include FV, establishing model of field, solve, and numerical model of turbulent, besides introduces the theoretical basis of the pipeline field and so on.Secondly, use the technology of CFD and ANSYS Workbench13.0platform to establish simulation model of flow field of the fan Z-490. This paper calculates the stastic pressure, power, efficiency of the field and draws fan performance curve. Besides analysises flow field of blade, hip-hup, tip. Then this paper presents a ram experiment, test equipments and the computing method of the fan performance, and then do data analysis. On the basis of experimental data, this paper draws four curves about flow-stastic pressure, flow-power, flow-pressure efficiency and fan performance.Comparative analysis experimental data and simulation data, and finding the reason of generating errors, according to the reason of causing errors, this paper proposes to change boundary conditions, optimize boundary layer grid and adopt polyhedral mesh to improve simulation accuracy.
