Satellite-to-ground laser communication is future development trend of the laser communication technology. A laser communication terminal, as a satellite-borne equipment, has strict requirements to its quality and volume.In this paper,according to the space environment and operational requirements, the laser communication terminal system’s specification is determined, and a single reflect-mirror structure is regarded as the mechanical structure of this topic; Then the choice of purchased parts and the design of structure, the option of materials for the parts of the laser communication terminal, and the lightweight design of the single reflect-mirror, u-shaped frame etc have been finished.The purpose of lightweight miniaturization of the laser communication terminal is achieved, The total weight of the system is down from17.813Kg to10.017Kg. The system’s weight dropped substantially. The modal analysis of the whole system by applying the boundary conditions that the frequency of the first modal is69.369Hz which meets the requirement.
