Power battery packs supply power for new energy vehicle, and play decisive role in the performance of new energy vehicles. In recent years, with the increasingly serious environmental pollution and aggravation of the global energy crisis, development of car is more towards the direction of energy saving and environmental protection. Because varied uncertain factors in battery production lead to that each monomer battery has performance differences in initial, so the characteristics of power batteries are not consistent. In order to make this inconsistency not to be expanded in the power battery series parallel welding, some power battery resistance spot welding experiments are done as follow:(1) Analysis of the welding characteristics of nickel plated deep drawn steel strip for battery shell, to determine the form of welding.(2) Base on the current parameters of welding process, the spot welding process parameters are optimized by orthogonal test, the optimal process parameters for the welding current3KA, welding time20cyc and welding pressure35N are gotten. The test result show that:The welding current effects the joint quality most, the second is the welding time, and last is the electrode pressure.(3) Microstructure, the tensile shear test and hardness test of welding joints are done to, study the effect of welding parameters on the quality of joints. Summary of common defects and analyze the invalidation form of electrode in the experiment is done, and some solutions are proposed. The quality of welding joints is checked to ensure that it meets the quality requirement.
