Study On Planning Of Carbon-sink Forest Park

Tackling with Climate Change is one of major challenges and opportunities, it is involving a variety of industries and fields in the world. In this context, the idea of low-carbon brings opportunities to improve the climate. Carbon sequestration by the forests is one of primary means to achieve "low-carbon". Forest park is playing an important role in climate and environment change adaptation and mitigation to the city, and it has been recognized. With the view of system, it summarizes the theories with problem-oriented and comprehensive analysis, and try to find out the method to adapt to the carbon-sink forest park’ planning for reality. It may provide song ways for China’s low-carbon urbanization, and some new ideas about the planning of forest park. The findings of this research can be concluded as follows:Firstly, analyzing the concept and content of carbon sink and the carbon-sink forest park, the concept and feature of the carbon-sink forest park were summarized. Carbon-sink forest park is one kind of forest parks, which based on the eco-drive pattern, and carbon sequestration by the forests is its main purpose. In order to achieve the low-carbon target, it could use the materials and tools with low-carbon emissions and combined with various of emission reduction technology and measures. It also has as social, ecological and economic benefits as the general forest parks.Secondly, intergrating of low-carbon and carbon-sink forest park planning, this essay explores the basic theory and principles of the planning of the carbon-sink forest park. Based on the analysis of social factors, economic factors and ecological factors, which are the three impact factors to the carbon-sink forest park’s planning, this essay study on the carbon-sink forest park planning dimensions, including environmental and ecological dimension, visual landscape dimension, recreation dimension and economic dimension. It will emphasis the scale of each dimension in the planning process. And it will explore the planning method of the carbon-sink forest park by the above studies. Thirdly, based on the studies of the four dimensions and the planning concepts, this essay questions index system of the carbon-sink forest park’s planning creatively. The index system includes ecological index, visual landscape index, recreation activities index, science education index and economic index. With trhe comprehensive evaluation method of evaluation index system, this essay will try to build evaluation index system to balance the carbon-sink forest park planning.Finally, in order to provide reference for future park planning, this essay analysis the exemplification of carbon-sink forest park planning, which through the case of Ansha Carbon-sink Forest Park.
