Along with the gear transmission to high speed and heavy load, the possibility of gear scuffing is getting bigger and bigger, and the adhesion wear great destructiveness, once it occurs often in a very short time to gear transmission failure. Both theory and practice show that gear surface adhesion wear is connected with lubricating effect, and gear lubrication and lubrication performance are inseparable. The viscosity temperature property of lubricant is the most important physical properties. Therefore, it is completely essential to study of the effect of lubricant viscosity temperature property on the gear scuffing load capacity.EP additives of lubricating oil and tooth surface interactions generated chemical reaction film makes the tooth surface scuffing load capacity doubled, but according to" Luobinde effect" know, EP additives cause the metal surface activity increased, so that parts of the surface corrosion and corrosion fatigue point. Lubricating oil viscosity temperature characteristics not only directly influences into the meshing area of lube oil viscosity, and has a synergistic effect with extreme pressure property of EP additives, common influence on unit area of metal in direct contact with the asperity density, thus affecting the gear scuffing load capacity. This paper uses the gear meshing theory, tooth surface friction and lubrication mechanism, lubricant viscosity temperature characteristics, using Excel numerical calculation and theoretical analysis as the means, from the perspective of systematic analysis of lubricating oil viscosity temperature characteristics of meshing point friction coefficient, and then analyzes the lubricating oil viscosity temperature characteristics on the impact of gear scuffing load capacity. Finally, to establish a mathematical model for the effect of lubricating oil viscosity temperature property and EP additives on the gear scuffing load capacity, and analysis of gear transmission with the same load capacity, lubricant viscosity temperature property on the extreme pressure additives concentration effects.
