Automobile electric power steering (EPS) system is more and more widely used inautomobile. In this paper, based on the analysis of EPS structure principle and characteristic,researching the dynamics of the electric power steering system and the assistantcharacteristics curve design and simulation, which provides the theoretical foundation for thesubsequent actual development. The contents of this paper are the following aspects:Firstly, the development and the principle of automobile electric power steering (EPS)are introduced. This paper discusses the basic composition and working principle ofautomobile EPS. The key research technology of electric power steering system is studied inthe future development. Focus on the main components of automobile electric power steeringsystem. EPS dynamics model is established. Using Simulink mathematical model of EPScompared with mechanical steering system model for the simulation analysis. The simulationresults show that compared with the mechanical steering system, EPS has good steeringportability.According to the characteristics of the electric power steering system dynamicalcharacteristics curve, researching the design of EPS assistant characteristics curve. Theparameters in the process of design curve and suitable for EPS curve type are confirmed. EPSassistant characteristic curve are simulated. On the basis of Carsim original mechanicalsteering system, using the Co-simulation of Carsim and Simulink. Compared with thehydraulic power steering system in Carsim, prove the correctness of the model of EPS.Finally, on the basis of the previous research, this paper analyzes the design scheme ofEPS test-bed. The scheme mainly involves the system overall structure design and test benchtest items. The design of this scheme lays the foundation for later development.
