In the6KV~66KV low power distribution network in China, especially in the6KV~10KV system,the neutral point of transformer are generally not directly grounded,it mainly includes the way of isolated neutral, neutral grounding by the arc extinction and neutral grounding with resistance. This system is called small current grounding system because the ground fault current is very small when single phase grounding fault occurs.Recent years in our country, among the grounding fault of distribution network, the recent of single phase grounding is very high, it can reach to80%. Single-phase grounding won’t make the distribution network trip immediately, but long-time running must will cause damage to the system.So we need to find the fault line as soon as possible.Then we can remove the fault as soon as possible, in order to guarantee the normal operation of distribution networkBasing on the fault line selection device,this paper also puts forward a new method of fault location, and has carried on the research:First, establish Matlab simulation model by according to the actual circuit,and then we can get many sample data by changing the parameters of the fault generator and its position in the line,then do the correlation analysis on the data obtained from field collection and the sample data, match them, at last we can judge the fault position from the matching results.This paper researches and designs a remote monitoring system, so that we can monitor the fault information in the line selection device remotely.This system can send the line selection device data to the personal computer, so that the user can clearly check the fault information,and then through the information the users can know the specific line which occurs single phase to ground fault.So it can achieve the goal of remote monitoring.Then do correlation analysis on the sample data and the data from Matlab simulation, it can realize fault location.With the continuous development of network and communication technology, recent years a lot of remote monitoring methods appear,such as using web server, VB, TCP/IP, internet and so on,they all have their own advantages and disadvantages.This system used VC and Socket mechanism,use the C/S structure,it can achieve this function, the client(Personal Computer) can access the data on the server(ARM fault line selection machine),so as to achieve the purpose of remote monitoring.In aspect of data storage, this system uses the embedded database SQLite, so the access and query of data becomes very convenient, and it also increases the portability of the system.
