With the rapid development of city construction, a large number of large underground garages and underground shopping malls and other underground engineerings appear, because of the large size, traditional retaining structure is no longer applicable. Thus, associate professor Ping Yan develop the combined retaining structure with anti-lateral pier, which is a new kind of retaining structure and is suitable for large excavation engineering, it has the advantages of without internal bracing system, reliable, convenient for construction, inexpensive and within the scope of excavation etc. This article will use the PLAXIS finite element software to carry out research work on the combined retaining structure with anti-lateral pier:(1) Firstly, the basic methods of retaining structure in excavation engineering are introduced; then, the brief introduction on the PLAXIS finite element software is carried out.(2) By establishing a two-dimensional plane strain model, the PLAXIS finite element software is used to study the anti-lateral pier. Firstly, study on the effects of the inclined angle of oblique pile on the deformation and internal force of the anti-lateral pier; secondly, choose a anti-lateral pier as basic example to analyze deformation of piles, internal force of piles, deformation of soil, stress of soil and contact stress between pile and soi; finally, by changing the specified parameter, the effects of depth of excavation, soil parameters, reinforcement in passive zone, stiffness of pile, length of pile, distance, stiffness of plate and other factors on the deformation and internal force are studied.(3) By studying the force mechanism of the combined retaining structure with anti-lateral pier, the calculation method is proposed.(4) Combining with the practical engineering, the combined retaining structure with anti-lateral pier is analysised by using the calculation method. The calculation method of the brace stiffness of anti-lateral pier is the feature of this paper.
