Wheel set as the key component of locomotive, carries more missions. Therefore, its quality of the assembly has a very important influence on locomotive safe driving.Based on the existing press-fit quality evaluation criteria and according to the issues that press-fit curve as the press-fit quality evaluation criteria is not perfect, this paper studies the state of stress and strain of the interference fit during the process of pressing the wheel. According to the calculation theory and method of interference fit, from the perspective of tribology, analyze interference fit surface contact state from macro and micro. And from the macro and micro perspective, establish an interference fit wheel finite element model. Through finite element analysis software post-processing functions draw pressure-displacement curve and obtain the distribution of stress and strain on the interference fit surface, by combining them to provide a theoretical reference for improving the quality of existing press-fit evaluation criteria.The main works of this paper are as follows:(1) Combining different disciplines, the concept and characteristics of interference fit, the calculation method of interference amount are described in detail. Combining with wheel interference fit features, method of elastoplastic wheel calculation is introduced in detail.(2) On the wheel set fitting evaluation index, the impacting factors on the press-fit wheel quality is analyzed and analysis method of wheel assembly is proposed.(3) Finite element model of wheel interference fit is established and the entire process of pressing is simulated. And the surface distribution stress-strain state while finishing pressing wheel is obtained.(4) From the tribology perspective, the interference fit surface asperity model is established and the process in the press-fit asperity force is simulated, combining the macroscopic stress-strain state of the surface of the wheel in order to provide a theoretical reference for the quality of press-fit evaluation system.
