A method of calculating heat transfer, resistance and leakage is proposed for the reconstruction design of rotary air preheaters after SCR denitration. And an application software for the calculation and design of rotary air preheaters is developed that can help reconstruction design of rotary air preheaters in order to solve the problem of corrosionat low temperature, clogging, leakage and other issues.In this paper, tri-section rotary air preheaters are the main object of study. A method of difference algorithm is proposed in order to simplify the calculating model. Resistance and leakage and other factors are considered at the same time for an accurate result.Leakage and resistance of rotary air preheaters are calculatedusing some existing equations and methods. Relatively reliableresults are obtained bymodifying some of these empirical equations.The calculating program can give exact results using calculating method mentioned. The deviation of outlet temperature of gas and air calculated by this program and a existing software is under2.9%. The deviation of outlet temperature of gas calculated by this program and the experimental data is about1.3℃.For the require of design after SCR DeNOx, this software has the features of calculating temperature field, good extensibility and can solve different design conditions.The experimental device is set up to evaluate the heat transfer characteristics and the flow characteristics of the existing corrugated heat transfer components. Equations which describe these relationships are carried out to help thecalculation of rotary air preheater: j=0.00673(Re)0.0014(Re<2100), j=0.00698(Re)0.0012(2100<Re<4100), j=0.00582(Re)0.0213(Re>4100);f=0.936346(Re)-0.33252(2000<Re<20000).
