In modern society, the electric power industry is the foundation of the wholenational economy. The reliability and safety operation of the power system canensure the normal development of all sectors of society. Large generators thatoccupied dominant production apparatus in the power system provide safe,reliable and high-quality electricity. Large generators have complex structure andpoor working conditions. When large generators run with full load for a longtime, they will inevitably make fault. If not to diagnose and repair faults in time,they will be destroyed, which would affect the normal supply of electric powerand make much economic losing. Therefore carrying out the faults diagnosis forlarge generators which would diagnose and repair faults to ensure the safeoperation of large generators have important real significance for thedevelopment of the whole national economy.The frequency of the stator core short-circuit fault is relatively high in faultsdiagnosis of large generators, and their consequences are more serious than otherfaults. In this paper, firstly it had a brief introduction to the basic structure oflarge generators. Then it analyzed the cause of the short-circuit fault in statorcore. Furthermore, it studied the change of magnetic field in the large generatorsstator core when the fault happened. Finally, based on the embedded LwIPprotocol stack for the Ethernet network communications, a sheet short circuitfault diagnose of generator stator system of using the32-bit microprocessorLM3S8962adopted ARM Cortex-M3is designed. Its background is ARM-basedembedded system design technology.In this paper, hardware circuit design of each module of this system hasbeen described priority. Firstly, the overall structure of the hardware modules has been designed, then the circuit theory and implementation of modules of CPU,Power supply, Date acquisition and processing and Ethernet communication havebeen designed. On this basis, the system programming has been described, andthe operating and debugging of the short circuit fault diagnose system in statorcore have been completed. Comparing the previous methods of diagnosis of thegenerator stator, this system requires only a very low excitation voltage, a fewpersons to operate and can reflect the fault serious level and location. Theexperiments have been carried out and the coincidence conclusion with thetheory analyses have been got, which showed that the system has accuracy andstability.
