| According to system requirements, pumped storage generator is often switched between the working condition of generators and motors. For the large capacity and high speed pumped storage generator, the design of ventilation cooling system and the control of temperature rise is always difficult problem and key techniques. To solve these problems, the ventilation cooling is dealed with further research for pumped storage generator.The ventilation model test which has the similar characteristics of the fluid flow can reflect the characteristics of the flow field for the generator coolant forecast the effect of ventilating system. Application of similarity principle gives a large pumped storage generator ventilation model similar to the real generator’s essential condition. Take Huizhou pumped storage generator for an example, performs the modeling process of ventilation model, and designs the ventilation model with measure and control device.Before the experiment, theoretical calculation is carried on the ventilation system of Huizhou pumped storage generator in this paper. According to the structure of Huizhou pumped storage generator ventilation system, the network of ventilation system and the math model of temperature field are established. Using fluid mechanics software FLOWMASTER, the calculation of ventilation system is carried, and air flow-rate distribution rule is summarized for Huizhou pumped storage generator in this paper. Based on the calculating air flow-rate, the temperature field of stator and rotor is carried by using ANSYS software. The ventilation and cooling effect is preliminary analyzed, grasps the distribution of temperature on the different parts of Huizhou pumped storage generator.In this paper, the model test data is collected and analyzed. Through lots of experiment, air flow-rate distribution of the ventilation model is summarized. To better track the actual situation of the Huizhou pumped storage generator’s operation, inspection test data of the ventilation model, analysis the cooling effect of ventilation system, ventilation test of the Huizhou pumped storage generator is specially carried out.Through mutual validation of theoretical calculation, model test and real generator test, show that the research of ventilation system is feasible and effective by adopting ventilation model for large capacity and high speed pumped storage generators. On the premise of meet the cooling requirement, reduces the ventilation loss, improves the efficiency and performance of generators, improves the calculation precision of pumped storage generator’s ventilation system, and provides technical support for the large pumped storage generator design. |
