Base isolation of sliding and friction is a branch of seismic technology. Since the20th century, since the60’s, this technology is researched and applied by many countries and regions in the world. t has been verified in many earthquakes, and gradually mature. This isolation technique with simple construction, low cost, obvious effect of isolation, seismic predominant period insensitive advantages, to be widely known. Whereas,thanks to many aspects of social, technical, economic and other factors, the effective seismic technique is not widely used in China, especially in the majority of low-rise masonry buildings.In this paper, to find out the reason, and work hard to promote the application of the earthquake isolation technology, the author read a large number of literature and do many actual researches.The main contents as follows are researched of this paper.Briefly introduced the sliding base isolation technology and its working principle. Analyzed the domestic and foreign researches and application situation, Find out several reasons for the failed of popularization and application of the seismic technology. Aiming at the village low-rise masonry housing conditions, proposed the Crumb-rubber composite isolation cushion, and try to simplify the calculation on principle of Kulun law of shear.From the perspective of the theoretical analyses the feasibility of this earthquake isolation technology, and detail the part of its composition and the function.The direct shear test of the sand and rubber particle composite isolation cushion was organized, and through the effect of the rubber particles concentration on the shear strength, illustrate the improve of rubber particles to the sand cushion isolation.The finite element analysis software SAP2000was used to set up3models of a2layer of masonry building, are seismic model, friction pendulum unit isolation model, tension/compression limited unit isolation model of friction pendulum. By contrast, on the one hand, obtain the result that damping effect of sliding base-isolated structure; on the other hand, analyze the impact of steel strand of sliding isolation isolation structure’s damping effect and sliding displacement.Through the shaking table test, the dynamic characteristics of the sand and rubber particle composite isolation cushion was studied. After the dynamic response analysis, we get two result. On the one hand, the damping effect of composite isolation cushion was verified from the view of dynamics; on the other hand, the reduced calculation method for damping effect was verified.
