GIS(gas insulated substation)in China’s urban and extra high voltage grid increasinglywidespread use of, and its small footprint, operation and maintenance workload is small, theaverage failure rate, etc. acclaimed. By the circuit breakers, busbars, isolating switches, voltage transformers, currenttransformers, surge arresters, high voltage electrical bushing kinds of metal fully enclosedstructure through a combination of. Mounted by the construction environment conditionality,can not reach the standard production workshop, so the installation process or installationmethods is critical.Based on the combination of several typical GIS electrical fault occurs during operationwere analyzed and compared, summed up the typical faults, including gas leaks, insulationfailure, component failure; and the reasons for its failure in depth, from product design,production workshop and on-site installation point for possible factors causing the failure, forinstallation and commissioning problems and common GIS failures propose targeted processimprovement strategies for the future installation of GIS Switchgear provide a reference, butalso for the safe operation of equipment basis.
