The selection of highway routes schemes are influenced by many factors including the society, economy, politic, technology, environment and other factors together. It is an important step in the whole process of highway construction and the quality of the highway routs schemes determines the success of the project. Research on the ways to evaluate highway routes schemes and select the optimal route scheme is the key to make scientific and rational decision-making of routes and finally achieve safe, efficient, convenient, reliable, economic and green highway transportation services.Based on the analysis of the research status on highway routes schemes selection and QFD method, the paper introduces improved QFD into the selection of highway routes schemes. First, this study identifies core customers and their requirements of highway products by using the document investigation and questionnaire survey and tease out the corresponding function requirements which are the key input terms in House of Function by the expert discussion method, realizing customer requirements to function requirements maps. The fuzzy clustering analysis method is used to cluster function requirements, and the fuzzy AHP is applied to determine the importance degree of function requirements. Secondly, according to the specific, measurable and global superiority principle, this paper transforms the function requirements to quality characteristics, and evaluates the fuzzy comprehensive relation degrees between quality characteristics and function requirements and autocorrelation relations between each quality characteristic. Finally, combination the fuzzy multi-attribute group decision-making theory with the features of highway routes schemes selection to construct the HOQ optimization model based on fuzzy multi-attribute group decision-making theory is constructed.The paper selects the starting point-Zhaishi section route alignment schemes comparison of Wuhan-Jingzhou highway to verify the applicability of the model. The research results show that applying the improved QFD method to select routes schemes can coordinate the highway customers’requirements synthetically, the selected routes scheme is more reasonable and scientific, and it is fully embodies the customer requirements oriented new concept of route design.
