The Chart Course Plotter System is an important part of the modern ship navigationsystem, which shows a very important position in guaranteeing security of the sails andenhancing the marine equipment’s automation. In order to adapt the continuous developmentof sailing as well as the demands of related maritime operators, new performancerequirements should be used in the Chart Course Plotter System.Taking its hardware structure of the system, software systems, and human-computerinteraction interface system into consideration, some measures were taken to upgrade theexited Chart Course Plotter System.Firstly, catching up with the overall design of the Chart Course Plotter System’shardware structure based on CPCI bus. On this basis, utilizing the characteristics of the CPCIbus and the driver design principle underlying the VxWorks OS, design the CPCI bus driver.And then complete the design of communication device driver which include serial andEthernet, and finish the track and plot system interface driver——CDT800after analyzingmathematical model digitally mapped from Charts and the method to draw track. As the result,they enhance the ability between devices’ interaction and the system process capabilities, andensure the rationality and security of memory allocation between device in system, make thesystem running better real-time and higher reliability.Secondly, use the real-time modeling language (UML-RT) on the Chart Course PlotterSystem for visual modeling, which the tool is IBM’s Ration Rose RealTime. Throughrequirements definition, static modeling and dynamic modeling express the composition ofthe software system and its running states visually. So, the modeling method of application ofvisual real-time, not only show the system’s operation easily, provide scientifically managemethod, and be convenient for software’s maintenance and upgrade the soft system of theChart Course Plotter System, but also reduces the software development cycle, increase theportability of the software system, and protect the real-time and reliability of the system.Lastly, using the high embedded graphical interface development tool-Tilcon to completethe design of the Chart Course Plotter System’s GUI. Create the Tilcon running environmentin the VxWorks OS, and develop some implementation mechanism which can make thedevelopment of interface system easier and the interface interactive performance andaesthetics better to design simplicity, high efficiency and rich human-computer interactioninterface base on Tilcon in the Chart Course Plotter System. And then run and cross-debug thecode which was produced by the software system model. At last, by combine the GUI system to the softwate system which was produced by model, achieve a new software interact systemin the Chart Course Plotter System. Also, finish the test for the software interaction system ofthe Chart Course Plotter Sytem, and get prospect the goal, which enhance the capacity ofsystem’s maintenance, portability and interface’s interaction.
