With the increasing warming of the global climate, more and more extreme weatherphenomena appear. In order to ensure the staff safety and reduce the facilities structuralfailure, as well as the pollution, the actual wind resistance capacity of facilities should beevaluated.Through the study and analysis of the FPSO actual wind resistance in South China Sea,anti-typhoon capacity of the FPSO is divied. And the relationship between the mooringsystem and loading condition is further analyzed, so as to find out a method to improve themooring system’s anti-typhoon capacity. The main content is as follows:1. The anti-wind capacity of single point mooring system is divised, and the sea statedata of the South China Sea is analyzed. Some common probability distribution functions arecompared and the method of parameter estimation is studied, and then the environmentalparameters’extreme value distribution and parameter estimation is carried out.2. The relationship between the mooring force and hull draft state is studied and amethod to improve anti-wind capacity is found out. With an FPSO from South China Sea asan example, the hydrodynamic property of the mooring system is calculated. The feasibility ofthe method is verified. And the extreme anti-wind level of single point mooring system isforecast.3. Structural strength of the FPSO under the typhoon is analyzed. A finite element modelof the ship with the software of MSC Patran and MSC Nastran is modeled. The environmentalload and stress under super typhoon is loaded, the stress results are summarized and highstress area is discussed, then the conclusion is given.
