Natural light is inexhaustible. The full spectrum radiation of daylight has a great visualeffect and makes people feel comfortable and pleasant in psychology and physiology. Due tothe advantages of clean and non-polluting, daylight as the oldest lighting system has beenpaid attention to again. By combining the daylight and artificial light sources with appropriatecontrol technology to make full use of daylight, the daytime energy consumption can besignificantly reduced for less dependence on electricity lighting and less lighting energyconsumption. In the paper, the light guide illumination system of natural light and theintelligent control for the perfect hybrid systems with daylight and artificial light source LEDwere mainly studied.Light guide illumination system is a novel lighting device which introduces natural lightindoor. The light pipe itself is not luminous, only as a light transmitting device. Therefore, itis not appropriate to use traditional luminosity distribution equipment to test the lightdistribution for light pipe. In the paper, a new method for measuring the light distributioncurve of light guide lighting system was produced to describe the distribution of light bytesting and calculating the illumination distribution from the light pipe. The professionalsoftware of TracePro was used to simulate in theory. The light distribution curves obtained bythe two methods were compared and analyzed. The results show that this method is simple,effective and reasonable. The resulting IES documents can be imported to optical software,such as DIALux and provide the basis support for lighting design and illuminationcomputation.The ambient light is gradually changing from dawn to dusk during one day. Most of thecurrent indoor lighting system relies on manual control mode with less ability to adjust thelighting system according to the change of outside light automatically. In the paper, theillumination automatic control system was designed to keep indoor illumination constant bydimming the efficiency artificial light source LED with the changing of daylight. Consideringaccuracy, sensitivity and power consumption requirements, PID control is applied to adjust the light and realize the intensity of illumination constantly. The method is precise andsensitive to solve the problem of indoor lighting efficiency effectively and achieve adjustableillumination. From this, it will then be possible to quantify the energy savings associated withthe reduction of daytime electrical lighting and have a better application prospect.
