The Steering-By–Wire system uses the transfer of the electronic information to replace thefunction of the mechanical parts, and it doesn’t have the faults of mechanical connection onstructure and properties. SBW system can realize active steering technology, variabletransmission ratio control and personalized design of driver’s road feeling. In addition, SBWsystem can reduce the burden of the driver, and provides more free to drive. At the early stage ofthe development of SBW system, we need to establish the control object and the controllermodel quickly, test and verify the feasibility and reliability of the hardware, software and thecontrol strategy design by repeatedly offline and online simulation experiment of SBW system.So the hardware-in-loop simulation test becomes particularly important. The thesis focused onthe design and building of the hardware-in-loop simulation test platform for SBW system. Themainly content in the thesis is as follows:The thesis introduced the development history, research status, structure, working principleand performance characteristics. Then it introduced the construction work which was did by theuniversities and research institutions at home and abroad for the hardware-in-loop simulation testbench of SBW system. After comparing and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of thebench, and combined with the practical situation and the functional requirements the test benchmust meet, the final design scheme was given. And the three-dimensional structure of the testbench was designed by CATIA.The functional requirements of the motor and sensors were analyzed, and the parametersthat the hardware needed to satisfy the requirement was determined according to the relevantanalysis and calculation. Then based on the market research and cost performance, the selectionof the required hardware was made.In terms of control system, this paper used the dynamics simulation software CarSim,MATLAB/simulink and the real-time simulation system dSPACE, explored the method ofreal-time simulation and researched the control strategy of SBW. Then the results verified thecontrol system was real-time, and the control strategy could improve the maneuverability of thecar. And it laid a foundation for the semi-physical hardware-in-loop in the future.
