A Study On The Cultural Forms And Development Of Zhejiang Agricultural Landscape

Zhejiang, well known as a land of plenty, has a long history of agricultural civilization. In1980’s,Hedumu ancient cultural remains was found in Yuyao where experts found rice husk packing, bonerakes, complex wooden farming tools and structures of pole-railing architecture. Agriculturalproduction was the main mode of labor and the source of consumption goods in the life of Zhejiangpeople in the past. Their life-style, the way of work and rest and so on have a crucial impact onpeople’s way of life, social patterns, religious culture and folk culture. The agricultural productionoffers Zhejiang people rural life characteristics, but also restricts and influences the development ofthe cultural system, cultural mentality.Agricultural landscape includes not only physical landscape such as natural landscape and plantlandscape, but also human landscape such as the form of society, daily life, local ethnic culture andbeliefs influenced by the agriculture. With the development of society, urbanization, urban-rural dualstructure formation and other factors, the mode of agricultural production has transformed fromtraditional manual agriculture to modern agriculture. Many old modes of production and life havebeen disappeared and the traditional culture are also facing an unprecedented crisis. The old house hasbeen received more and more concerns, but the left protected countryside structures will lose theirsouls if people’s living style have been changed.This article analyzes the agriculture of Zhejiang cultural landscape, integrated landscape design,social and cultural perspective, and mainly divided into the following three points:1st, through investigation and literature collection, analyze the agricultural landscape of producing,living and culture in Zhejiang traditional agricultural district; fully understand the cultural landscapesubstance of traditional agriculture.2nd, understand the modern agricultural culture landscape and the modern agriculturedevelopment through visiting and investigating, analyze the modern types of modern agriculture.3rd, through the analysis of the traditional agricultural landscape and the modern agriculturallandscape, compositing the experience of the agricultural landscape development in the developedregions both at home and abroad, analyze the agricultural landscape in Zhejiang recently, and giveseveral reasonable advices.Agricultural landscape is much more than beautiful earth planting landscape; it is a kind of social patterns, living style and folk customs formed under the influence of the agriculture civilization.People should pay more attention to the cultural landascape of the agricultural landscape, and protectthe unique folk customs, social structure and landscape pattern from being destroyed.
