The testing equipment is designed to test the amount of optical distortion on the helmet panel,which is an important component part of the helmet display. It is used to solve the difficult problem of detecting the nonconforming products in molding process.Based on distortion theory, this paper firstly describes the concept of distortion. And then accordance with the requirements of the technical specifications, the optical system of the device, the mechanical overall structure, the electronic control system and software system are designed and optimized.At last, assembly, debugging and error analysis are conducted to the developed device.Through analyzing the amount of distortion generated by test equipment, under the ideal circumstances, the detected distortion value meets the0to20minutes’angular displacement requirements given by the technical indicators.And the measuring accurancy is less than0.5minute. Due to the simple structure of the distortion detection device, excellent of the optical system and easy to operate, It has great reference value to research and production.
